Welcome! My name is Oscar, and I’ve been interested in hair ever since I was young and in my bathtub mixing my mom’s various shampoos together in hopes it would create a magical potion. Hence my brand, MagicOska.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I’ve also lived in England, Seattle, and now reside in Sacramento, working out of Cultivate Beauty. Experiencing different cultures and environments has shaped both my perspective and knowledge, and this became my creative outlet as well as a meaningful way to contribute to my goals of clean hair care and chemistry. My work today reflects both the artistry and science of hair, using products that align with my aim of creating results that are vibrant, healthy, and long-lasting.

Experience

For more than a decade, I have worked behind the chair creating personalized results for my clients. I believe every client carries a unique story and vision, and each appointment is an opportunity to translate that vision into a look that feels authentic and confident. My approach combines technical understanding with artistic intuition, allowing me to craft results that not only look beautiful but also support the long term health of the hair.

Beyond the salon, I have collaborated on creative projects that celebrate hair as an art form. My work has been part of editorial shoots and runway environments, including participation in Sacramento Fashion Week to New York Fashion Week. These opportunities allow me to collaborate with other creatives and bring fresh inspiration and innovation back into both my salon work and my education.

Branding & Education

Education has remained a central part of my career. Over the past decade I have worked with professional brands to educate fellow stylists, sharing advanced techniques in color, haircutting, styling, and business development. I believe education is about more than learning how to use products. It is about understanding the science of hair, refining artistry, and building the confidence that allows stylists to grow sustainable and fulfilling careers. Today, I am proud to continue that work as an educator for Innersense Organic Beauty.

Through both my work behind the chair and my role as an educator, my goal remains the same: to inspire creativity, elevate the craft of hairdressing, and create meaningful connections through the work that we do.
